I've kept White's for years...they're awesome! The throat extension can be a number of things: is it a male? It's distinctly possible he's been doing a LOT of calling (I assume male if he's doing any calling, haha), and a lot of times, it's not uncommon for the throat to, well, "stay that way" for a while after the calling is done. Have you heard any chatter amongst the froggies? If there's only one doing the talking, chances are you've got a 1.1 pair...! Also, what kind of temps/humidity are you keeping in the tank? ...keep an eye on it, and if there's any change in behavior, I would assume something different.

Other potential issues (not trying to scare you or anything, haha) - abscess? water retention (kidney failure)? -- what kind of water are you using, is it treated? --- however, if he's still eating and doing all his normal froggy things, I doubt it's one of those.

Sorry for the million questions, I'm just trying to help you as much as I can! I love the froggies, and I think they need a little more love on here :-)

...here's a pic I found online of a "swollen throat" - - does it look like this? {found this on another forum: credit to talkto.thefrog.org!}

...what kind of diet are they on?

Again, sorry for the billion questions, just helping however I can! Hopefully he's just showing off, trying to be sexy :-)

Keep us posted!

We have well water  no chlorine they eat about 3-5 crickets large twice a week dusted once every other  week the  one  with the swell does croak just feed them and  changed their water . I took a  wet paper towel and  grabbed him/her and we chilled for  a second  got a good look at it  you can see right through it if you look from an angle with a light behind it. We don't handle them very much Hermes has  always croaked  even  before the  addition music usually sets him off any kind lol Humidity running  about 60% I mist them twice a day 12 hours between and they are on a 12 hour cycle  of day/night a day bulb and a uvb night bulb

It's similar to the pic but Hermes's is  larger all the way to the  bottom lip to where the "shoulders" would be  if that  makes  any sense

Just wanted to say that you sound like an awesome frog owner! You really seem like you stay on top of all of their needs and it's good that you are perceptive enough to notice a potential problem so quickly! :o)
I'm sure he's fine though. I've also seen lots of the tree frogs keep their throats puffed out, even after they're done talking. The boys I used to keep liked to do that and it definitely freak me out at first. Just keep an eye on their behaviors- if you notice anything off, like he isn't eating, his skin is discolored, or he is acting lethargic(well, more so than normal...lol), that's when you should worry. Unless one of those things happens, I'm sure he's perfectly fine!
