I am still trying to find a reliable feeder supplier that carries rat fuzzies, for the meanwhile is feeding my approximatley 2 feet Jungle carpet Python 2 small mouse pinkies sufficient until I find a supplier? Please give me some suggestions as well..i am on the east coast and I'm looking for a supplier I can purchase relativley small orders of feeders with out paying an outrageous shipping fee. There are more pictures of my Carpet on my page. Thanks a lot, Jake

I'd at least do two hoppers if you have access to mice.
We gave you suggestions for suppliers in the previous post. Loxie has extremely fair shipping prices & is east coast.

My supplier doesn't ship, I would go with the others that were suggested. two mouse pinks is definately not enough. Cartpet pythons can e take very large meals. I would do a couple of hopper mice or even a small sized adult at two feet, he's ready for a much larger meal then mice pinks.

I looked at his pics, I have a girl Jag smaller than him that is taking small adult mice. I would bump him up if you have access to mice.
I actually started my hatchlings out on mouse fuzzies.

^ totally agreed. mouse pinks are a miniscule meal for any carpet older than a hathcling. 1 small adult would be about perfect.

I agree with the above. And personmally, I wouldn't even bother with rat Fuzzies. Go with a hopper or adult mouse. You can just go by the old rule of thumb, feed one prey item that is just a little thicker than the thickest part of the snake.

OP, do you mean to ask if it's ok to feed pinky rats until you can get fuzzies? If so, then yes...I get my carpet pythons off mice as quickly as possible.
If you're talking about pinky mice, you can go significantly bigger than that. Carpets can take hoppers/rat pups from birth.

The snake in your pics will have no trouble taking adult mice, or appropriately sized rats. It is a python, quite able to take prey TWICE it's own girth. For God's sake feed the poor thing! LOL

This Carpet Python is a month old, he is about as big around as a pencil. He just had his first meal, a rat fuzzy. You should feed your Carpet more, if yoh cant get rats feed him bigger mice more frequently. Carpet Pythons love to eat!!!!!
