March 2017

Percy is still off feed.  He refused a small rat Friday, so I fed it to Olympias, who took it happily.  It was her first, and weighed about 53 grams.

Hopefully Percy will come off his strike next week, now that it's starting to warm up here.  If he still decides to be a refusenik, I know where to turn for some appreciation ....

I had one go 18 months. Just wait it out. And yeah it's always good to have a backup snake to take the refused meal.

Yeah, this seems to be his seasonal behavior.  I've had him for 3 years, and he stops eating every Fall - early Spring.

Like George, I have had some truly impressive feeding strikes in adult animals. Had a jungle corn go from February to July without eating. Have had many pythons go 4-6 months without eating. If they are not losing weight I try not to worry about it too much.

Patience! Reptiles are worse than toddlers when it comes to feeding.

Thanks for the encouragement, but no worries.  I've been through this several years running....
