A New Addition

Posted by Rene' at 3/2/2012 8:19:29 AM

Meet Degei, my new baby. I got him from Brown Coat Breeding's Amanda Amon. She was super awesome about holding him for me until the weather warmed up enough and was an absolute pleasure to do business with. Helpful and fast on answering any questions I had.

Degei is an 8 month old Pastel Poss. Het. Ghost male. I picked him up Wednesday from the local Fed Ex hub. He turned out to be quite the character before we could even get him home. Somehow he managed to escape both his bag and box, in the 15 minute drive home from our last stop. Hubby checked on him at the last place we stopped and he was definitely still in his bag, but by the time we got him home he had made himself comfortable under the front seat of my truck. (I'm still trying to figure out how he managed to escape in the first place seeing as though he was sitting in hubby's lap.) So, after spending the better part of an hour digging him out from under the seat, he settled in comfortably in his new home. He is still trying to figure out just what hillbilly hell this is, LOL, but he's doing great. I will get some pics of him once he's settled down a bit more. The pic posted above is one Amanda took of him for me before she shipped him.

Congrats on your handsome new boy.  Better make sure he's in an escape-proof enclosure!  Can you pronounce his name for us?

I think I've got him locked down pretty good. LOL. Especially after Nuwa's escape at the end of last year and then his escapade the other day, I'm a little paranoid about escapes. LOL.

@Joe - Thanks. :D His name is pronounced N-den-gay.

Degei is the Fijian serpent god of creation. I know it's one of those odd names that's hard to pronounce but since Nuwa (my Normal female) is named after the Chinese serpent goddess of creation, I thought it was kind of fitting. Degei was also, apparently, a god that showed his displeasure with terrible wrath, and my little boy has an attitude. So, once again, sort of fitting.

Very pretty, my brother just told me a story about his friend who thought he killed a copperhead.  Apparently it struck his foot while hunting, but didn't go through the boot, so he hit it with his fold-up chair.  It quit moving so he picked it up, didn't move.  He left it on the trail and when he came back it was still there so he threw it on the floor of the passenger side of his truck and drove back to show everyone.  He told them to come out, opened the door, no snake, apparently it was very much so alive and was under the seat snapping at him.  Apparently it took them forever to get the poor thing out.  Your under the seat story reminded me of that.

Glad you got him out ok, I agree with Lisa, sounds like a handful, lol
