starting out

Well the thing i would like to start talking about is the starting of buying a snake.  I cannot remember

where i heard or read this information. but i will post it for others to read.  GREATEST comment i read

was plan on spending 2-3 TIMES the amount you paid for your snake just for its housing.  I got a really

really nice tank for 125 its 6 ft by 22 inches by 3 ft, now thats a full grown size snakes tank, but i figured

the deal is now and its great for the future.  Another great peice of info, a little rougher or sharper rocks

to help shedding.  Water absorbant bedding to keep the moisture, not sure how moss is, but i know it

keeps humidity pretty high.  Also the right wattage, start with mid i think i started with a 100 day and 75

night.  Worked out great!  For people with smaller tanks im not too sure prolly a 50, but buy a

thermomater. Check your heat levels BEFORE you put ur snake in there!  If too cold return the blub and

get a higher wattage, if too hot well you know.  Plus look into your snakes habbitat!  Mine loves trees,

and climbing.  Obviously water dish and a decent hide, other then that i think its all covered. just figured

some starters dont know just like i didnt. Quick note DONT use heat mats for dirrect contac,t it WILL

burn your snake ... apparently.  Use it under your tank for bottom heat if thats what

youchose.  ......................Well ATLEAST my 8 HR in formation search came into a 3 min read ....

Not many realize it's twice or three times as much to keep an animal than to actually purchase one. (Why I still don't have a horse:) !!!!) Probably the best advice anyone can get or pass along. Welcome to the crazy and fun world of iHerp!

Yep, I always tell people that, like any pet, the animal's initial cost is nothing compared to housing, vet care and feeding.

As a suggestion, if you used punctuation it would be MUCH easier to read what you wrote...
