Yesterday was the day! The day I received Hadiah, my first Chondro!

The name means "Gift" in Indonesian. (Thank you for the suggestion, Aaron!)

When I opened the box and saw this little one for the first time, my eyes got all glossy, and all I could think was, "This is amazing, I will never forget this!"

I wrote Aaron yesterday, and my statement was:

"OMG! I think it's love at first site! (I may end up cursing you sooner than I anticipated!) "

I couldn't let the day pass without pictures, so here they are...

I had to wait until after my daycare day to take the little cutie out, though, and decided to do so outside in order to have natural light for the pics.

I had Hadiah climb out of the deli and right out onto my hand...

They say pictures are worth more than words... and since I have had a hard time finding enough words to express how amazed I am by all the support and generosity of my fellow iHerpers, I hope these pictures will be able to show you.

My 12 year old is responsible for all the pics of me. It was so cute, I told him just take pics, you don't have to wait for me to pose. Well, he stood there with his feet shoulder width apart and took shot after shot - about as fast as the camera would let him, and then he made the comment, I'm pretending to be a professional photographer, you know like when they stand there taking a whole bunch of pictures! (We had recently watched a nature photography show and he was doing his best to duplicate.)

So, sorry for the onslaught of Sonja pics, but I think he did pretty well in capturing my first few minutes with Hadiah.

After this short photo session, I placed my cutie in a 6 quart tub with perches - duplicating the set-up Buddy was using - to lessen the stress for this little one. I know there is bound to be many pics in Hadiah's future... after she/he has had some time to acclimate and has had some meals with me.

	Thanks all! I was hoping you would, Aaron! Patrick... how can I not have a smile on my face when there are snakes involved?! That, and I'm fairly easy to please.... or is it if a person is always smiling, it makes people wonder what they may be up to?! LOL I couldn't help but to take a few more pics this evening... I mean, with seeing Hadiah perched for the first time and all!

	Congraulations on your new chondro!! I've had mine for about 2 weeks now still adjusting and what not. But Buddy B's animals are the best hands down he really got some phenomenal critters!

	I know what Jay means about them stealing your soul, I've already have my second one planned out and it's from Mel4Short. :). Another sorong x jayapura cross to match buddies and I know it's 50/50 if I'll get a pair or not. Doom... I've had close encounters with my little one but no official tagging as of yet... Knocks on Wood... But other than that once I have Montezuma out he or she is pretty chill.

	This makes me happy There's no other way to say it. I remember the first time I saw Sonja's amazing collection, all I could do was wonder why there were no chondros. Well, we've gone and done it now. This time next year, she'll have a dozen or more. In 2 years, she'll be selling her own baby chondros! And I am so totally cool with that. I can't think of a better person to add to the LONG list of incredible people in the chondrohead community. Welcome aboard Sonja!!! Your new animal is gorgeous. Hopefully it'll grow up to look like Mom. Congratulations on your first Morelia viridis! It suits you well -p- P.S. Mucho for all of those who helped make this happen. IHERP ROCKS!!!

	Sonja Hadiah is absolutely stunning! You look so so so happy, just think how happy you would be with 3 more...hehehe. And it looks like your boy is right in step with his Mama for picture taking, great job!
