This is why some people shouldn't be allowed to have snakes!

Posted by Ernie at 1/27/2012 10:41:31 AM

I saw this ad on craigslist (ah craigslist!) and emailed them immediately to loose the cedar chips!

I have 2 affectionate healthy ball pythons that need a new home these two love to be handled. one is about 4 foot long and other s about 2 1/2 foot long. Enclosure is wood and wire and is about 2 x 2 x 4 , It come with a dome fixture and light -2 shelves -2 synthetic branches a Hot rock a hide and a water tray. Even cedar chips to last a few months as bedding Re-homing fee of 200.00 You couldn't buy this for three times the price anywhere else.

Really!!  Cedar chips??  Wood & wire??  Hot rock??  HEALTHY??

Come on man!

mucklucking shoot me, he only didn't fill the tank with water because it leaked by the sound of it!

I keep saying it!

"5 MINUTES ON THE INTERNET AND YOU'LL KNOW HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SNAKE - MAKE THE EFFORT muckluckS OR LEAVE THE SNAKES FOR PEOPLE WHO DO!"

I've seen ads on Craigslist (close to where I live) and this guy is selling a beautiful red tail boa and the ENTIRE enclosure and all the fixtures - $150.  Obviously, he doesn't want it.  I've been considering calling him and saying, "I know you don't want the snake and aren't taking care of it - just mucklucking GIVE IT TO ME."

I hate ignorant people.  This site has probably made Banana one of the healthiest ball pythons ever.  Love you guys.

Ya, well newbies are uneducated and most people do not care to learn. All the more reason organizations like ours (Pike County Reptile Association) Pikecountyreptile.com is so important in educating the general populace.

That's just upsetting.  Emily, it's fine to be new and everyone makes mistakes, but I'm always amazed by the people who refuse to listen to good advice.  You've been wonderful to talk to because you are willing to listen and take advice.  And did I just see that it's your birthday today?  HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY!

HA!  Yes.

But I won't be the star tonight - the parents haven't met Banana, and are DYING to.

I agree with Aaron that a simple internet search will help folks learn something about caring for your snakes. I agree with Tanner that most people refuse to learn or read or educate themselves. I saw this almost everyday when I worked in the cell phone industry. People would rather take the time to drive back the store for a rep to show them something instead of reading their owner's manual. And Emily you should tell that guy to just give it to you.
