I forgot that I had a rat(135g) thawing in the fridge and didn't feed it last night like I should have. I took it out Wed.morning around 8 a.m. and put the frozen rat directly into the fridge in order to thaw. I should have fed it last night like I normanlly do around 12 to 13 hours later.(It usually takes about 45 minutes to warm up sufficiently in hot water)
It is now 8 a.m.Thursday morning and I'd like to feed it tonight. What is the maximum time that a rat can stay thawed in the fridge prior to feeding without it getting any kind of bacterial growth that would put my snake at risk?( keep in mind that the rat goes directly to the fridge from the freezer and never sees room temperature until I go to heat it prior to feeding.)
Thanks very much.
