Wanted Green Burmese Python

Posted by Katie at 3/14/2012 5:46:04 AM

I am looking to buy a young (under a year) male green burmese python that is eating F/T and preferbly not nippy but I cannot find one anywhere. If anyone is selling one or knows someone who is please let me know.

Problem is you can't ship them after the 17th (I believe that's the start date).  Look on Fauna, hope you can get one soon otherwise it will be a lot harder since they can't be shipped.

The start date of no importing and state to state travel (thus no shipping) is actually the 23rd. Katie, you have picked a difficult one! Finding a basic morph right now is quite difficult and young ones are usually a year by now and new babies won't be available until after the 23rd. I do want to mention, I wouldn't be too concerned about nippiness - especially if you are looking for a young burm. Most young burms are naturally nippy and grow out of it. Same with the f/t, they are garbage disposals, if they aren't eating it they likely will.

I looked a bit, but you're quite right there isn't anything for what you want.  There is a nice male on Fauna, but at 10-11ft I don't think he fits the young description - he is out the nippy stage though.  Since the deadline is close, I would suggest if you haven't already looking for anyone around you that is breeding that might have baby greens coming. You can still keep your eye out, but if someone breeds around you, there is no rush and a green isn't a way out there morph so you are more likely to find someone close.

Good luck! I will keep a look out.

Good to know, thanks for letting us know the correct date, I was just guessing, I knew it was sometime this month though.

Not a problem. As a lover and keeper of them I like to try and keep myself somewhat in the know. As dark as it may be at times.

Oh, love albino greens.  Thankfully one of those hasn't popped up around me.

I know I probably won't find one by time the ban takes effect but I am trying. I thought it went into effect a while ago and when I realized it didn't I figured I would give it a try to find one.
