Being new

Posted by Myk at 2/5/2013 6:59:55 PM

As usual being new to a forum/site is always exciting and confusing as well. Most of my time in the past couple of days was looking for bulk products that I can purchase. I hope that this will be an interesting experience. People talked about this site for a while and I've just never worried about it.

Yeah last time I interacted with Herpers, it was actually highly annoying.

Welcome to iHerp - the only place on the Internet where bacon is, and is not bacon at the same time.  Think of bacon like Shrodinger's cat.

Sonja's right. Your going to be kicking yourself wishing you had joined sooner

Oh yes, you've missed much. Like 2 headed snakes appearing like magic in closets.

Now don't you wish you'd gotten here sooner?

Oh, and welcome!

I hear ya, Myk...Many other herp sites/forums can be very frustrating to deal wtih.  This is the only one I can stand to visit these days.  We've got an awesome group of people here, and Aaron (the guy responsible for all of this) works really hard to make this place great.  Welcome!

@emilyrussom: NO i want bacon to be bacon all day everyday.
@emily (this is the plain emily one i didn't just get lazy here) : yeah the last one i was at all they did was suspect me to be some sort of trolling person even tho at any given time I was always trying to help people, i stopped going there because it was pretty much if you didn't have the same response as the group of friends there they were going to bother you until they kicked you from the forum for whatever reason they told admin for. I was only there for a month and i saw around 5 people get kicked.

So just for a little bit of reasoning this place is much better than many of the places that I've been to. if for any other reason, people actually try to answer questions and there's people with different views on things i.e. naturalistic caging vs rack caging. should be interesting.

That's not going to happen. I have worked V_E_R_Y hard for the past year to make it "not bacon" and your'e senless talk will only make me angry. And you will not like me when I'm angry. <<<<< Deep fried erection. That is all.

We all have differrent opinions here. 99.9% of the time it's generally a healthy discussion. When it goes "bad" it's quite entertaining and usually involves someone quitting the site. We don't kick people off here. People leave on their own accord. We try to get them to stay, but their have been a handfull of times where we are really glad to see the person leave.

ALWAYS be on the look out for O/T blog posts. They are great for livening up the mood and are usually posted when iHerp is having a "slow" period. I tend not to participate in such things, as I prefer my chit chat to be centered around serious reptile discussion. But they are fun to read.

You are so full of it George!

(I am referring to your second to the last sentence.)

George H. Wessel VII,

I have no idea what you're talking about "bka mama".

Sonja K. ,
Posted At: 2/6/2013 2:33:28 PM

Pfft... this innocent side does not serve you well, George... and why "bka_mama" and not "Sonja K."? Were you stalking my page???

George H. Wessel VII,

I would never do such a thing "Sonja K" or whatever you wish to be called.

Memes. We hate memes here also. Don't post those. Blogs about furry critters (especially cats) are more than welcome because some of us get tired of just seeing "scales" all the time. I, for one, would love to see a great kitty blog again.

Derailing a thread is frowned upon also. Please try to stay within the realm of the original post. Nobody likes their thread hijacked.

Sarah Auzina,

We also despise sarcasm.

Emily Milton,

See?  Everyone loves kittens.

George H. Wessel VII,

No memes though Emily. You know the rules.
