New MTB Additions

Shortly after the Tinley Park Show, Jeff Hartwig, whom I have communicated with over the years mainly on the topic of Olive Pythons, but of other species as well, contacted me to say he's been looking to steamline his projects a bit and was wondering if I would consider adding his pair of Mandarin Sanzinia to my collection.

He said the main reason he wanted to offer this to me is because he believes they breed better in groups, where you can rotate males through and even combat the males a bit.  He also said he knows there is not a lot of these around and since I have had success, he thought I would do great with them.  He said he had good luck breeding without combat but the males bred better when they smelled that another male had been around.

I had sent him a pic of the baby Sanz of mine with the most white and he said that the baby pic I sent looks just like the babies he produced a number of years back and the male he still has was the father of those babies.

Well, how could I refuse?!

They arrived later that week.

They were both in shed, but now that they have shed and eaten here, I figured it was time to introduce them!

This is the female:

And, this is the male:
