On the Eighth Day of Snakes...

Posted by Sonja K. at 12/21/2013 3:26:38 PM

On this eighth day, I am featuring my Argentine Rainbow Boas. They are both newer acquisitions for me. I searched multiple years for them and it was only with the help of others that they are now here. I thank both those people for the leads. To my knowledge, none have been produced here in the states for a few years. I hope to change that in the coming years. If she gains as I expect her to, she should be of breeding size next fall, but I don't rush such things, so we'll see. They will be my first Rainbow pairing, though, so wish me luck!

First up is my male Rio. He still isn't the happiest of campers, but by making changes to his habitat, he has begun to eat more consistently, and that is step one.

Just this one picture of him:

Next is my female Cereza. She is a much darker example of the species and quite easy going, so I have a few pictures of her for you.

And now I must get busy again! Only 4 more days until Christmas! Eeek!

They look dumbfounded by something. Was it something you said? Did? I need to know.

Thanks everybody!

Nate - Well, if you all only knew what my animals have to go through in order to bring iHerp The 12 Days of Snakes. There are the ones that seem to not care for me, and this just gives them further cause to hate me, and then there are my mama's boys and girls that all they want to do is crawl to me, to play, and cuddle like usual. Instead, over and over they get put back on the props, have a hand placed on top of them to get them to stay, or get tapped on the nose. I think that may be where the dumbfounded look comes in. I mean how could their mama do such a thing?! Of course those get extra playtime after.
