For posting pics...

Posted by Sonja K. at 12/9/2017 4:27:43 PM

Hi All!

In the past, I used photobucket to upload pics for my blogs and then pasted the url here on iHerp. Since that is no longer an option with photobucket, unless you pay a ridiculous amount, I am looking for options to use (other than facebook).

Thank you!

I tend to use Gyazo a lot, although I often use it for quick / temporary snaps (although you can totally copy the image URL and perhaps use it later?). Sadly, I'm not aware of anythingakin to photobucket anymore that's 100% free. :c

Alternatively, you could just cross-post the blog to Tumblr or Livejournal or something and grab the image URLs from there.

I use Flickr, but there is a $25 yearly fee if you want unlimited storage. it's easy and you can protect your photos.

I just upload them to my animal's profiles, then use the URL for the large version to post elsewhere. That way they aren't going anywhere unless I delete them!

Ya I made a animal page  called pics and set it as private. Then I would just copy the url from there

Sorry, a bit late to the party. I was facing the same dilemma after the Photobucket fiasko, and after much deliberation I finally went with PostImage. It is super-easy, quick, and free. It has taken many hours to transfer my images from Photobucket and fix the posts on the various forums (still haven't fixed my iHerp blogs), but PostImage has thus far been great.

I used imgur bc I used to be on reddit a lot... There's probably some downsides to it but my albums had multiple uses to them (specifically showing people the wide range of variation in normal ball pythons) on reddit
