First python clutch of the season is here!! (Pics added)

Went out to see if any Boas had been born yet... didn't find any of those, but I did find that my New Guinea Water Python has begun to lay her eggs! Laughing Looks like there are two on the ground so far....

Yeah, I'm betting towards the end Ashley's not gonna care.

I just peeked in on Hope again, and she was just finishing up what looks to be #7... with one or two more to go? She was still feisty after 2, now...not so much so.... ; )

Ashley hasnt even popped out one yet. The eggs have moved downward and the first one is right at her vent. She seems to be waiting for the just the right moment, like when im not looking.

More pics.... but please, you'll have to excuse her cage with the shed and all... she doesn't care to be messed with during the breeding season - as evidenced by her nose from twapping the front of the enclosure - so as to create less anxiety for her, I try to rarely bother her - mostly just give her fresh water.

I think she was still at the point of being too exhausted to wrap around her eggs when I checked and saw she had finished. I was able to easily remove her from her eggs this year vs the struggle she gave me last year when she had a few hours to rest. LOL

Well, she didn't choose to use her lay box, and instead laid them on the bare bottom of a freedom breeder tub. A couple were already adhered pretty strongly to the plastic - since of course she laid them on top of the heat, too. But, I remembered Mel's post about using thread to separate the eggs, so I had my oldest boy run in and get me the closest thing I had to thread that I knew he could find, and that was dental floss - worked like a charm! : )
