iHerp Morph Gallery Photos

Posted by Aaron Florian at 8/13/2011 4:52:45 PM

Your chance to be an iHerp rockstar! We need good, representative photos for the new Morphs section on iHerp!

We have implemented base morphs (only) on Balls, Chondros, and very soon cornsnakes, and need photos that are good quality. Each morph will require a good full body and macro shot of the scales, and should be as large a photo size as you can make it. For the time being, there's no notifications in place, as well as if you request a morph. Email notifications all around will be put in a future version.

If you have a ball, corn, or Chondro morph, and can take some pictures for the morph gallery, please take a look at the morph gallery under species. Find the species, then click on the morph. Even if there is a photo there, feel free to upload yours. We are looking for the best of the best in the long run, your snake could be THE de facto photo for it's morph!

Please read the instructions on the upload page carefully, white backgrounds are best for the terrestrials, and those crazy tree climbers,... well... unobtrusive natural backgrounds work really well. That or black.

We are breaking down all of the species into named morphs, this will not only help classify things, but will come into play with the classifieds, lineage, and all sorts of other things on iHerp.

Thanks much if you can help out!

Species: Ball Pythons admin: Abi!
Species: Green Tree Pythons admin: Aaron!
Species: Corn Snakes admin: Nate!
Species: Western Hognose admin: Hana!

Is there going to be a slot for more varied morphs on the Cornsnake side?

I don't keep the other two, but I do have a Miami Phase corn, and an Okeetee I could take pics of for this.

We only have a couple of cornsnakes, but when you are ready to start in on boas (Bci and Atb) I can offer quite a few.

Posted At: 8/15/2011 3:16:06 AM

Can we have tricolor for chondros, please?

Aaron Florian,

What the hell where the hell is the other morelia love here Aaron? Im disappointed...

Aaron Florian,

First things first... :)

I hate you both :)

Paul ,
Posted At: 8/17/2011 11:09:23 AM

Where are the Morelia morphs yo?

Patrick Malloy,
Posted At: 8/17/2011 2:57:29 PM

I second the morelia......what the hell carpets are way cooler than corns......and you picked those paper weights over the paperweights cousins? :(

Abby McDufford,
Posted At: 8/17/2011 3:03:50 PM

lol, they will come eventually ;) Just workin' kinks out first! Plus, there are more morphs in balls and corns than there are carpets ;)

and Aaron forgot to mention... I'm also the admin for Kenyan Sand Boas. (he only added those cos I begged em for more work. :)

Aaron Florian,
Posted At: 8/17/2011 3:20:38 PM

This is Morphs Beta, and a controlled, limited rollout to address all of the issues and complexities of what we're doing. This is a monstrous undertaking which will yield the worlds largest comprehensive morph gallery. I'd rather keep the problems limited right now, because all of this can change at the drop of a hat, which results in more work for everyone (especially me).

In other words, keep your damn pants on. :)

Patrick Malloy,
Posted At: 8/17/2011 6:48:41 PM

PSH you took kenyans over carpets.....i dont wanna keep my pants on anymore!!!!

Posted At: 8/17/2011 7:23:41 PM

Patrick, dude, California has turned you into a whiny bitch!

Twist one up and chill, I'm sure Aaron would be happy to write you some priority functionality for the right ;)

Paul ,
Posted At: 8/17/2011 7:45:25 PM

Thanks for all of your hard work guys!

iHerp has really taken off because of it.

Glad to see you're still kickin Patrick.

I never wear pants, so no worries on losing 'em.

Patrick Malloy,
Posted At: 8/17/2011 7:57:07 PM

LMAO Julie I love you too!!! Im me my priorities are carpets first, morelia second, and everything else is in whatever order its in. So can I have my cheese now?

Paul Im alive just kicking it, I moved and that ate up alot of my time. You going to TInley?

Patrick Malloy,
Posted At: 8/17/2011 7:57:42 PM

I probably wouldn't be so Whiny if balls weren't picked over carpets...i mean talk about alot of work....Ball people still don't know how many morphs are out LMAO!

Abby ,
Posted At: 8/18/2011 3:00:55 PM

LECor Reptiles,
Posted At: 1/2/2012 4:07:00 PM

I'd like to see a Morph section for leopard geckos. I'm sure it would be in the upcoming works. I would jump all over that. How about it aaron? I would put in some work and I have a few buddys on iherp i can reach out to.

i want to send in my pastave but there isn't a moprh on the list for him :( He's beautiful

Abby McDufford,
Posted At: 5/25/2012 1:24:55 PM

The plan is to have multiple gene animals up eventually, but for now you can choose "Pastel" and "Mojave" and they will both show on his profile. :)

Todd and Patrick ,
Posted At: 6/8/2012 10:18:27 AM

howbout TEGUS.....  gotta love'em

Lauren ,

Carpets, please? :p

Dave Pierson,
Posted At: 11/18/2012 1:48:58 AM

Should I even ask?  After over a year and three months, are we at least close to adding something else?  Preferably carpets, wink wink, nudge nudge.  :)  If not, I'll check back on this thread in april or so to ask again...

Aaron Florian,

This is still on the To Finish list, but requires a crapton of time. I've figured out HOW to do this, just need to get the time TO do it. Thankfully, there's some nice breaks coming up over the next month :) :) :)

And having photos for everything is what we want!

Posted At: 1/16/2014 2:33:34 PM

I have a few fabulous pictures to add to teh Kenyan gallery, my embarrassing photography skills of the past still have my young silly albino photo that I'd love to replace! :)

I would love if we could get a bearded dragon, iguana, and/or retic section up and running...
