LOTS of Pics from Tinley - DUW!

Posted by Sonja K. at 10/12/2011 2:50:23 PM

I had a blast at Tinley again this year! It was so fun to meet some people face to face for the first time and to see others that I haven't seen since last year.

I took a bunch of pictures at the show - I will warn you, there are a lot of ones of BPs, but honestly, that's in part because there were a lot of BPs! LOL

Hope you all enjoy them!

Paradox Mystic Potion

SK Bumblebee

Irian Jaya Granite Carpet

Nothing cuter than babies hatching....

Robin from Pro Exotics speaking at the Saturday night auction where amazing support for him, Chad, and the Pro-Exotic staff was shown, along with well over $20,000 raised towards their rebuilding.

Another ~ $40,000 + was raised for US ARK and PIJAC

I believe the animals in the next few pics were part of the Chicago Herp Society display.... please correct me if you know differently.

Next is Dav Kaufman - a fellow member of my Herp. Society (MN) - and producer of the movie, "Herpers". He was there debuting Herpers 2.

A picture my friend took of me while holding a Hypo Hog at PM Herps:

Desert Pin

A Banana BP

A Spinnerblast Banana

A Super Mojave

2011 Pied Black Pine Snake

A Pretty Boa Produced by Jeff Ronne of the Boaphile:

A Key West Boa also at Ronne's table:

Snow BP

Black Pastel Champagne, I believe...

A Highway - I think this was probably my favorite of the BP morphs.

A Puma BP

Some more art work...

I loved how this gator crawled right into the bag at he conclusion of the show - what a good gator! : )

Awesome photos and animals!  My bank account would have been hurting if I'd gone.

Do you remember the morph of the bp below the Irian Jaya?  Very cool looking.

These are the pictures I've been waiting for from the show! ha.. I wish I were rich- those banana morphs are awesome. The Highway is definitely one of my favorite new morphs as well- very interesting to see how it plays with other genes. Glad I didn't go because I would have been very upset to leave empty handed!

Sonja- that is a lesser clown :D SO awesome and I want one..

Holy grapejuice girlfriend! Those are awesome. I love that little Soul Suckers face and I'd have to tag the Highway as a stand out amongst all the BPs as well.

Gun pics of you 9glad one actually turned out), Dav and Robyn as well.

That auction gave me goose-bumps, it was remarkable.

Thank you so much for showing me the ropes my first time out!

I'm SO glad you got a pic of the Madagascan Ground Boas!  They were awesome!

Dittos to Colleen about the auction!  What an absolutely amazing night!!!

The last picture  looks like the kid in the background is biting a snakes head off !!

Sonja K. ,
Posted At: 10/12/2011 8:44:42 PM

Thanks akk!

HaHaHa.. Michael... you noticed it! At first I was going to crop it out, and then I started to mention that in the description, but erased it - wondering if anyone would notice - it was one of those plastic/rubber ones, rest assured... but made me giggle when I saw it.

Sandy D,

LOL I had to go back and look. Too funny.

Posted At: 10/12/2011 9:31:07 PM

In the last pic, I assume that's a fake snake, but that kid looks like he wants to eat it, lol

And I almost started drooling when I saw the Soul Sucker!

Awesome pics Sonja!! but you need to take more pics of retics and crazy stuff to convince me to come down for the next show LOL

Emily ,
Posted At: 10/13/2011 9:18:15 AM

Excellent pics!  Neat BPs, gorgeous carpets...and yeah, totally noticed that kid nom'ing on a snake and really hoped it was rubber, or that he got bitten in the face moments after you snapped the picture.  ;)

Sonja K. ,
Posted At: 10/13/2011 9:20:04 AM

Thanks all!

Jeff...   the pic of me with the Boa wasn't "crazy" enough to convince you to wander down from Canada?! LOL

There was definitely a lack of "oddities", or you know I would have been all over those!

I only noticed 2 booths with Retics and only 2 with Bcc, also. Also a serious lack of GTPs, ETBs, and ATBs!

JSA Reptiles,

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful pics! Ty!  Glad that gator was so well behaved.

Lauren ,
Posted At: 10/13/2011 8:11:40 PM

Awesome carpet photos!  No chondros (except wooden ones)?  All those ball morphs are ridiculous.. I've never heard of half of them. It is kind of sad that I could sell my car and not even be able to buy some of em.

Rebecca ,
Posted At: 10/13/2011 8:25:42 PM

Jeff, you're coming to Tinley in March.  Get your passport in order!!

Craig ,
Posted At: 10/13/2011 10:25:05 PM

Nice pics Sonja! I wish I met more iHerpers. I met Luke and Aaron & Hana....think that's about it. I was only there Saturday though, which wasn't really my plan as I intended on staying all weekend. Lauren there was a distinct lack of chondros at the show this year to say the least.

Patrick Holmes,
Posted At: 10/13/2011 10:31:32 PM

Great pics Sonja!!! I hate to say it, but some of those balls were pretty awesome. I find it amusing that one was lableled PCP and another Angel Dust (2 names for the same illegal drug for those who don't know). I wonder if the 2 morph are related. I really like the GTP carving too. Thanks for sharing!      -p-

Patrick Malloy,

Great pics Sonja!!!

Wheres your pickups at?

Aaron ,
Posted At: 10/14/2011 7:01:32 AM

Bloody hell - where to start!!

The Paradox Mystic Potion! GIMME GIMME GIMME! and oh how I love the WLP's - gorgeous.

The Cinnamon Super Pewter is gorgeous too and the handsome gator just wandering about is the coolest thing I've seen in ages - love how chilled out herpers are around animals that would have mere mortals screaming and calling in SWAT teams

Great stuff - Sonja - Flawless Victory!

Peter Ingargiola,

Great for sharing!!

Tyler shepherd,
Posted At: 10/16/2011 4:21:54 PM

Nice picks thanks for shareing it's just a shame that there was so many ball pythons i love them but there are so many other species you don't see at shows anymore because everyone is breeding balls

Rebecca ,
Posted At: 10/16/2011 5:35:44 PM

Tyler, I disagree; the other species and other reptile interests are represented... you have to look closer to find them, but that has pretty much always been the case!  You wouldn't want every other table to have sunbeam snakes available, would you??

Colleen ,
Posted At: 10/16/2011 8:13:29 PM

Ohhhh I want Sunbeams (Xenopeltis) unicolor and (Loxocemus) bicolor please at every other table:D Oh wait this isn't a vote is it?

Sonja K. ,
Posted At: 10/16/2011 8:20:39 PM

Table after table of CB "oddities"... Oh, I would love that! : )

Colleen ,
Posted At: 10/16/2011 8:22:37 PM

Indeed! Perhaps we could finesse CB to mean "Cool Beans"...:)

Rebecca ,
Posted At: 10/16/2011 9:04:03 PM

LOL, table after table of oddities means they cease to be oddities  :P  sillies.

that's what makes the "oddities" appealing anyway; you have to hunt & research to find the people who are working with the "oddities" you seek... what fun would it be if there wasn't that challenge involved?

they all have a role in the industry; the morphs, the "overpopular" species, and the "oddities."  :)

Sonja K. ,
Posted At: 10/16/2011 9:49:22 PM

Okay, Rebecca, I'll just say this then... I hope that one day I'm one of those that people seek out in their search for the CBB "oddities".

Laura Lee ,
Posted At: 10/16/2011 10:34:38 PM

What fantastic pics, thanks for sharing!!!!

I love those day gecko magnets...

Rebecca ,
Posted At: 10/16/2011 11:15:14 PM

Sonja, OF COURSE you will be!!  You have undeniably good taste!!  ;)  I mean it helps that we are pretty much fascinated by the same species....
