My Reptile Interests
|

I first got into herps when I was in 6th grade. I got to hold an amel corn snake on a field trip to a wildlife refuge. It was so fascinating and amazing to me. I got my first reptile, a baby normal corn snake, for my 12th birthday. I was an inexperience child, however, and I only had him 2 years before he escaped, probably in the woods behind my parents house.
I have since learned from that experience, but my passion has only grown for these amazing creatures. I now have a Nicaraguan boa, 3 ball pythons, 3 leopard geckos, and a several frogs. The crown jewel of my collection, so far, is my dart frog viv. I first became interested in them during an internship at the Florida Aquarium. They are incredible little creatures. Also, this seems to be the only way I would be able to keep house plants, as my cat has destroyed every potted plant I have ever owned.
Eventually, when I have a more stable income and more space, I would like to breed ball pythons. It seems like a very interesting and fun hobby.

Other Interests

Mostly I like to laze around and watch tv/movies/YouTube/anime with my fiancé, David. We love The Big Bang Theory, Game of Theones, Gotham, Tanked, and Pitbulls & Parolees. Eventually I would like to adopt a pit from Viallobos, when we have the space/money.
I am a hardcore Attack on Titan fangirl, and I will shamelessly admit it lol. I am also into a few other anime, casually. I loved Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Soul Eater, One Punch Man, Sword Art Online, and RWBY. But, Attack on Titan is my all time favorite. I'm up to date on the manga. I've got the bluray of season 1, the PS4 game, and various other swag. David and I try to go to Metrocon (our local anime convention) every year. I cosplay occasionally, but mostly I just love the atmosphere. It is so fun and care-free, and the events/shows are amazing. And a lot of our old high school friends work the con, so it's nice to catch up with them.
I like to watch YouTube when I'm home alone. My favorites are Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, and a few other gamers. I also like scary story channels, Cinemasins, WatchMojo, reaction vids, Caleb Hyles, Jonathon Young, and Natewantstobattle.
We both enjoy getting together with a few friends on the weekends, for a drink and/or Cards Against Humanity.

Music

I like an eclectic mix of music. Anything from alternative, metal, classic rock, EDM/dubstep, even some pop if I'm in the mood. I'll even listen to soundtracks from my favorite movies, if I feel like it. Some of my favorite artists are: Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, A Day to Remember, Skillet, Guns n' Roses, Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, Maroon 5, Tiesto, and Daft Punk.

Movies

My favorite animated movie has to be "How to Train Your Dragon 2". I love dragons, probably because I love reptiles. I also liked that they combined social and behavioral traits of different animals to create the dragons' personalities. The first one was adorable, the second one made me cry though. It had all the ups and downs of a serious grown up movie, but it was animated. And the world was just so fantastic, I wished I could live in it.
For live films, it depends on my mood. I mostly prefer action/adventure and fantasy or scifi though. I love the Pirates of the Carribean series. I love all of the Jurassic Park films, Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit series, Star Wars, and all of the Marvel Studios movies.

I am currently going to college for Environmental Science. I would like to work in wildlife rehab, or zookeeping after I graduate. I love animals, but obviously my passion is herps.
I have interned at the Florida Aquarium, and the Lowry Park Zoo.
Right now, I am working as a Shipt Shopper. It's kinda like Uber Eats, but for groceries. I love being able to set my own schedule. It's super convenient for school, and my free time.
