1.) CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT!
First, create an account for yourself. Remember, all of the required fields are required. Please do not put in a fake birthdate! Although you can hide your age, we'd still like to send you something on your birthday. Eventually.
Also, you need to use a real email to verify your account. Fake emails will not get you an account.
2.) CREATE AN ANIMAL
Once you've created and gotten your account all set up, it's time to start adding some animals! Hover over My Animals in the navigation, and click Add A New Animal. The wizard will guide you. After all, he's a Wizard.
3.) FILL IN YOUR ANIMALS DETAILS
This is optional, but recommended. Put in as much (or as little) as you want about the detail of your animal. Once again, animal prices are never displayed to the public. It's for your information only.
4.) ADD SOME PHOTOS
Click on the image to add a photo, or on the tab marked Photos. Click the button marked Add New Photo, and follow the instructions.
5.) BROWSE AROUND
Once youv'e added some animals and photos, take a break. You've earned it. Hover over iHerp Central, and browse new animals, people, whatever. See what other people are doing well, and not so well. Make some comments, send some emails. Have some fun.
6.) START TRACKING
When you have your animals in, you can either track individually, or use Batch Feeding under tracking. This will get you started on your way to inputting your animal husbandry. Don't do it for you, do it for the kids.
This should get you started, poke around the other areas and I hope you enjoy the site! When you're acclimated, feel free to enter your full details and interests, start blogging, upload your avatar.... there's lots to see and do in this wonderful new world. Enjoy!
