This baby died perhaps hours before we candled it, then cut a hole into the egg to see what happened. From the candling, lack of movement , and milky liquid that came out of the tiny hole cut into the egg we could tell that this one had not made it. So we decided to extract the little one to see what its color had been. Even if it had made it out we likely would have culled it due to the deformity of its head and jaws.
The darkness of red is not the norm for this pairing. We would consider this a cherry of ruby red.
