Comments:	Florida Brown Water Snake (Nerodia taxispilota). I decided to list him in my animals list, though he is not really mine. I follow his days living in the canal in the back. I get worried if I don't see him for a few weeks, so I figured I would add him so I can keep updated info on "him" and track when I see him. I'm sure there are others in the canal too, but this one lives right out back... Maybe I will start something for the turtles too, since they like to bask on this particular rock... I know we have a few species of them in the canal, but they are much more shy than this guy. I don't try to handle Herbert, since I want him coming back to be able to track him. The neighborhood kids do enough to mess with the wildlife out here, I try to limit my interactions. 7/20/13 - I think Herbert may be a female, since one of the cats brought a hatchling water snake as a gift. Luckily, the little guy had spunk, and we were home to pull him away from Rora before she are him. I checked him over as best I could, and released him into some bushes by the canal. I have some pics of him on instagram. He was just a tiny little one. I would have kept him if my mom and wife were not all over me to let him go... ;)
