Species:	Russian (Horsfield's/Central Asian) Tortoise Testudo horsfieldii
Sex:	Male
Comments:	A russian tortoise I took in that was not being properly cared for. Was diagnosed with metabolic bone disease and an upper respiratory infection on 6/25/13, as well as some vitamin deficiencies. The vet also believe he is depressed. Cannot walk on back legs, they are very weak and there is some muscle deterioration, but no fractures. Also eyes are constantly closed and puffy. Working with the vet to help get this guy better. On 6/26/13 I found out his kindney levels were not good. On 6/28/13 we went back to the vet and had him fitted with a feeding tube and added daily fluids to his treatment plan. Will recheck his kidney levels in two weeks. 7/1/13 His eyes are looking better and he is starting to move around a bit. He still cannot use his back legs at all, unfortunately, but our main focus are getting his kidneys well.
