Comments:	Bailey, my Little Red, was a gift from my boyfriend. He was such a beautiful little tortoise and had a wonderful temperment. He was happy doing almost anything whether it be sleeping in my lap or exploring in the yard. He did love being outside. He would always eat the clovers. A few months before he passed away I noticed he just wasn't himself. He was eating less and sleeping more. It's typical for yearlings to nap a lot just like puppies but it was just a little too much. Soon he stopped eating completely and I knew it was time to see my reptile vet. Since he was so small there was little that could be done except give him supportive care. I tube fed him every day for a week and gave him subcutaneous fluids. He wasn't passing anything that I was feeding him so I was beginning to think he might have an obstruction somewhere in his digestive tract. At his follow-up vet visit my vet took some radiographs but they were inconclusive. He was just not getting better. The next day I took him outside and he perked up so much that I thought he might be coming around. He explored a small section of the yard and soaked up the sun. I brought him back in and left him alone for a few hours but when it was time for his feeding I saw that he had passed on. It felt like someone ripped my heart out of my chest. I was so devastated and I cried for days. I'll never know exactly what his illness was but I know that he's not suffering anymore. I will always love and miss my Little Red.
