Animal Name: Ruby (aka: Thing 2) $125
Reference Code: RT2HShailJPBoas2010
Species: Common Red-Tailed Boa
Boa constrictor constrictor
Sex: Female
Comments: 8/2/13 - She could easily move on to large rats, but I think I want to keep her on medium ones for now... She has gone back to striking like crazy, but I also have not handled her much. She is getting hook trained slowly, and will calm down once out as long as there's no chaos in the room. I would keep her if I didn't rely so heavily on pet-sitters.

4/21/13 - She's doing better again. With daily handling/work, she could be a more predictable boa. This girl is gorgeous. She's ready to move to med rats (maybe even large based on the sizes I now get as large from the current supplier), but I have a whole bunch of smalls left. Keeping her on smalls could help curb the weight gain though, since she is looking quite chunky of late.

5/16/12 - she's starting to get really aggressive. I need to take more time to work with her. She struck at teh glass again today as I went to open the cage. She's not hungry, just aggressive, since she ate a rat on Sunday. a few weeks back when I had her out, she struck at my arm. Any suggestions other then taking her out more often? She was very aggressive when I got her, but I thought it was because she was being kept in a really small enclsure. She's in a vision cage now that is small, but not too small for her. (211 I think, if I remember my model numbers right).

4/12/12 - looked at her head peeking out of the hide today. She has definitely grown in bulk as well as length. Her head is over an inch wide, and almost 2" long. She it's the steady eater of the 2 boas... Pounds a small rat just about weekly. I'm guessing by the summers end she will be on to med rats... I have a feeling she will be out-growing her new cage pretty soon... Oops.
