Animal Name: Freya
Reference Code: Baird's Ratsnake
Species: Baird's Ratsnake
Elaphe bairdi
Sex: Female
Death Date: 4/20/2012
Comments: Bought from a friend of Abby (abi21491 on iHerp) by the name of Raksha.

Freya and her brother, Freyr, are from a "silver" line of Baird's, from unrelated parents Raksha got from a guy by the name of Jon Koppin.

Can't wait to see how they turn out when they get their adult colors.

Freya is the less calm of the two, and hated having her photo taken enough that she struck at me a few times in the "lightbox". Weirdly, she didn't musk on me.

Sweet. All bairdi end up somewhat silver. They are actually sexually dimporphic, with adult females being more silver and males being more orange. IMO, Texas bairdi are the most beautiful non-venomous U.S. snake. I am raising 2 Vivid Reptiles stock (the best) that I produced and a het. albino I got as a gift. -p-
