Comments:	Naja nivea was originally described by Linnaeus (1758) as "Coluber niveus". They occur throughout SW Africa, ranging from the Northern Cape of South Africa, central and southern Namibia, SW Botswana, and Lesotho. They're a polymorphic species: I have seen both yellow and jet black specimens in South Africa alone. I acquired this specimen as part of a trio in 2011, and the female produced her first clutch for me in 2017, and another one in 2018.
