Animal Name: 0.1 LTC Crotalus cerastes cercobombus
Species: Sonoran Desert Sidewinder
Crotalus cerastes cercobombus
Sex: Female
Comments: This subspecies is found in the desert regions of south-central Arizona and western Sonora. These snakes are classic sidewinders, which involves moving in an undulating S by repeatedly throwing a loop of its body in front of its head. This is an adaptation that minimizes prolonged contact with the ground in hot environments.

I received this pair from a good friend of mine, who caught these specimens in the Tucson, AZ area. They have been producing offspring every year, with the litters of up to 12 neonates being born between July and September.
