Sorry, I think I confused you again--lol! Aztecs aren't a locality... And not all Okeetees are locality Okeetees... Some Okeetees, like Abbott's line, are just selectively bred for the Okeetee *look.* They aren't necessarily descended from the actual Okeetee Hunt Club locality animals. Either way, it's still not simple inheritance like Amel, Anery, etc. :)

lol. Thankyou for trying to explain that. I knew the Okeetee were a locality snake, and you can either have pure okeetee from south carolina okeetee plantation, and is a snake was half, it was just a normal old corn. I didnt realize the Aztec thing was the same way. I really appreciate the explanation. I am pretty new to this!

Not het, just displaying a bit of the trait. When you breed two animals displaying "aztec" patterning together, or even one with "aztec" pattern and one without, there's no guarantee you'll get any babies that show that aztecing. It's a trait that can be selectively bred for greater or lesser effect, but it's not such a simple inheritance thing, or even simple on/off gene, like, for instance, Hypo. It's like Okeetee or Candy Cane. That look (the pure white background of a Candy cane, or the bright colors and wide borders of an Okeetee) was specifically bred for over many generations to be developed. A snake that doesn't show that coloration doesn't "carry" it, so to speak. You can't breed two normal amels from Candy Cane breedings and know you'll get candy canes (or, more likely, even get candy canes), because it's not inherited like that... I hope that makes some sense. I am dreadful at trying to explain things. lol. Basically, what it comes down to is that there's no such thing as a het for a selectively bred trait. No such thing as het Okeetee, het Miami, het Candy Cane, or het Aztec. I'm willing to bet you can get a better explanation of this sort of thing from somewhere like the Cornsnakes.com community... lol

Hmm, Well she shows some Aztec pattern, and her mom had it too. Would that not be het?

Very adorable little one. Would just like to give you a head's up, though--there's no such thing as "het aztec." Aztec is a selective bred, if not entirely random, pattern. It's not a genetic trait, hence, a corn can't be "het" for it. :)
