Comments:	10/25/2026- FINAL UPDATE - We found a very calcified egg in her that likely was from back around August as her last infertile laid was back in June by my records. Typically girls lay fertile or infertiles every two months. Our girls stop laying around the end of August and go through fall and winter without laying. We opened her up and it was very clear that she had an egg developing around August but didn't come out. We've had two old girls now and both started laying singles around 10 to 12 years, and continue to do so. That seems to be normal here and a decent signal for age in cresties. That being said they can live for a lot longer. Narillo is 14 right now and only starting to look a little wrinkly. Rosarie just had bad luck holding an egg at precisely the time of year I expect my girls to stop. So I didn't think anything was wrong. I regret not holding my older animals more and spotting that egg in her belly. I usually leave the older crankier animals alone. I might have been able to help her if I'd spotted it. RIP Rosarie. 10/18/2026- RIP- This year was the off year for this calm girl. She was left alone for a year to eat and replenish her body condition like I do for every breeder female. It's an every other year thing. There was nothing major to note until now as she was very healthy, fat, and happily enjoying food and living. She passed yesterday and we aren't quite sure as to why. Her feces looked good, her body condition was big and ready for boys next year. She showed no outward pain or issues in the last days. This was very sudden. We should note that she hasn't laid an infertile egg in months, but older females will sometimes skip months on an average year with no males around. We will be doing an autopsy to look for the possibility of an infertile egg in case she was trying to reabsorb one. However at first look and firm hand she didn't feel like she had any eggs in her. It could have been a heart attack. There's a lot of possibilities really. She was nine years old so not at the height of age. My best guess right now is heart attack as she was well fed to get ready for next year to breed. It's quite sad as I enjoyed handling this gentle gecko. RIP Rosarie. If we see something when we open her up we'll note it here. 8/21/2019- Very healthy no signs of other parasites or health issues. She's finally been taken out of quarantine and put in the big tank. 6/16/2019- 46 grams 6/14/2019- All rounds of protozoan dewormer are finished. Still need to pore sex. Out of fenbendazole for roundworm deworming so I need to buy some more when I can. However no signs or issues with health. Arrived 3/29/2019 Produced by Brookside Crested Geckos; out of Sulfur the sire also bred by Brookside Geckos, and an unnamed dam (breeder loan) from The Harlequin Hoard. She looks to be a dark based quad stripe (almost full) with a creamy dorsal and some side patterning.
