10/12/08	Comments			A completely overzealous move on my part -- ignoring quarantine protocols as well as a very thorough inspection of the new snake -- prompted entirely by promising drops in temperature and apparent eagerness on the part of Oliver, the male. As I feared upon first seeing her, Uggs was suffering from a minor mouth infection that did not become self-limiting in her new environment. The male was removed immediately and Uggs was treated successfully with antibiotics. A more careful assessment of her size, age, and general condition has prompted me to suspend this pairing for the time being.
10/12/08	Removed Male	Removed [LM1-M] Oliver		Elected to temporarily remove male. Although he's very receptive, the female does not share his enthusiasm...to the extent that she rubbed her face raw against the screen lid this evening. I treated topically with an OTC triple antibiotic. Will continue with nightly coolings though.
