| A completely overzealous move on my part -- ignoring quarantine protocols as well as a very thorough inspection of the new snake -- prompted entirely by promising drops in temperature and apparent eagerness on the part of Oliver, the male. As I feared upon first seeing her, Uggs was suffering from a minor mouth infection that did not become self-limiting in her new environment. The male was removed immediately and Uggs was treated successfully with antibiotics. A more careful assessment of her size, age, and general condition has prompted me to suspend this pairing for the time being. |

| Elected to temporarily remove male. Although he's very receptive, the female does not share his enthusiasm...to the extent that she rubbed her face raw against the screen lid this evening. I treated topically with an OTC triple antibiotic. Will continue with nightly coolings though. |
