03/16/15	Comments	Gemini the Twin		This is my 4th healthy, fertile egg ever as a beginning breeder. This is my first year. I suspected twins from the start, but never thought I was actually right. The live baby cut, pipped, and emerged from the egg all on his own. He couldn't break free so I thought there was an umbilical cord so I left him alone for a bit, but kept monitoring. Then I noticed a body through one of the slits in the egg. I made the decision to cut a window into the egg and baby #1 moves and out comes baby #2 attached by a thin tissue of some sort. Baby #1 started trying to move away from baby #2 and started tearing the membrane off of his tummy. I decided to cut the tissue closer to baby #2 as to try and avoid a bleed out of baby #1. No blood come from the cut. Twin 1 (Gemini) appears to be doing good. First shed happened last night (morning hours of 031515).
