05/29/18	Comments	death		Unfortunately this bay has passed away due to breathing complications. It had hatched on the underside of the egg on top of the incubation substrate (coconut fiber) and inhaled quite a bit of the substrate. We were able to get nearly all of the substrate out of its mouth, and were hopeful that it would recover. However we obviously didn't get what it had already inhaled out of its lungs. It took a last gasp for air around 9:45pm on 5/29/2018. We hope to prevent this by moving other eggs onto moist paper towels when they get close to hatching.
05/28/18	Comments	Trouble with mouth		Helped to take some of the incubation substrate out of its mouth, but it still seems to be having trouble with some in there. Hopefully it will be able to dislodge the last bit by itself as it is too far back in the throat for me to help with. Otherwise doing okay. Have seen it drink a bit from the water bowls.
