| Today we noticed a Nose Rub on Nyoki from trying to get out. We pulled him from the 41 Qt. and put him in a 4 X 2 X 1 for the time being. We will treat him with "Repti- Wound" and once it starts to heal nicely we will put him back in the 41 Qt. Rack. |

| Spoke to Katie today about the white stuff that was coming out of his vent, and she confirmed what I had thought that it was in fact ejaculation. I asked her what that meant and she said that means "Nyoki wants a girlfriend" she said it could be that he smells females in the room and is almost ready to breed. Nicaraguans are a dwarf bloodline so it very well could be that he is at the proper breeding age and size but because the previous owners had no real information on him we dont anything for sure. we are taking him out to Katie's house with us on monday and she is going to look at him for us. |

| Soaked Nyoki in warm water because his skin was looking really dry after he shed. We expected he might defecate, but instead we found some long white stringy stuff coming out of his vent. We put it in a baggie in case it was something to worry about. Honestly the only thing it looked it could be was ejaculation. But we didnt know what would cause that. DeAndre said it had a slimy texture to it. I left a message for katie to call me because I knew she could help me |

| Starting Nyoki back on Ceftazidime. He is still expelling that small puff of air sometimes. I spoke to someone who said some snakes just do that. He is not exhibiting any other signs of being sick, he is very active and eating and defecating great. Diamond is on Ceftazidime right now and because her dose is so small there is about 1.5ML left over that we would be throwing out, so per the vet we can just give it to him as a precaution. |

| Took Nyoki in to be put on antibiotics. Because I felt comfortable giving him the injections @ home they just showed me what to do and gave me the meds. He will be on 0.3ML of Ceftazidime every 72 hours IM, in the upper 1/3 portion of his body and make sure I rotate sides every time. |

| received lab results from Dr. Dave today. He said Nyoki has "monocytosis" which is elevated monocytes. in snakes monocytes should not be above 1000, Nyoki's were 6480. Dr said it is an indication on chronic inflammation, however that does not tell us where it is. blood tests showed his liver and kidneys were doing just fine and he was not dehydrated. he said whatever this is has been going on for a long time most likely (this may be explained by the conditions he was previously being kept in when we got him). He explained our options which included some very invasive testing 1 being a tracheal wash...we had heard that a trach wash could actually cause more problems and only do it for last option. Dr Dave said because we were leaning more towards an RI because the sound was coming from the nares or mouth he felt comfortable putting him on a preventative antibiotic. after doing some research and speaking to a breeder I felt comfortable moving forward with the treatment. he gave us an appt. for 12/16. |

| We started hearing that burst of air sound coming from his nares (we think, it could be his mouth). We took him to see Dr. Dave who did a very thorough exam he found no physical signs of an RI however he took a blood sample to send to the lab and he would call us with results and let us know what we should do. |

| Aquired Nyoki when we met Brandon and Kim. They recently ran into a situation that made them unable to care for Nyoki anymore so we agreed to petsit until they got back on thier feet. Nyoki came to us with 2 seperate injuries one on his nose and one on his side. Brandon could not explain the injuries and did not know the last time they had fed him but it had been a few weeks. Brandon had told us they thought a little while ago that Nyoki was sick with an RI but when I asked all the defining questions he kept answering no so it was not an immediate concern, When we got him home we noticed that the injury on his nose was quite deep, and there was a "burst of air" sound coming from his nose. I didnt know if this was what brandon was talking about when saying he thought he was sick or if it was from the injury. We are treating the wounds with reptiwound and decided we would keep an eye on him. |
