| Azure was bit and or scratched under the chin today by the rat. There are 4 seperate puncture wounds but 1 of them is pretty deep. We will keep it clean and treat it daily with "Repti-wound', and we will also make sure the rat is dead from now on. We are making sure that the wounds do not scab over because we were reminded that a scab could trap bacteria in there, if it does happen to scab DeAndre will get it off and continue to treat it. |

| While observing her in her new habitat DeAndre thought he saw mites. upon further inspection it was confirmed that she did in fact mites. They were pretty big it looked as if she may have had them for a little while. I called Monique and she said she didnt know and hung up as quick as possible. after doing research online, reading books and talking to the vet we decided to treat her with a mixture of NIX headlice medicine and water every 4 days for 1 hour soaks. clean her tank very thoroughly and put her back in a tank with newspaper substrate , hide and water bowl that is it. |

| Purchased Azure from a woman named Monique, DeAndre had found her on craigslist. She was advertised as a 3ft long hypo that very docile and NOT AGGRESSIVE. when DeAndre saw her the first time she struck @ him twice but did not bite him. After we purchased her I spoke with monique and found out snakes had just been a hobby of her husbands and he lost interest 6 mo. prior @ which time he stopped handling her other than to feed her or clean her bin. Not to mention she was a very large girl way bigger than 3 ft. Monique said they bought her @ the NW breeders expo in 2008 and she thought she was a 2007 breed. she also said she may be Het for something else but didnt have a clue what. |
