| We tried feeding her in the afternoon, but she REFUSED. We decided to wait and present to her again in the evening. @ about 10:30pm We presented to her it took her quite a while but she finally took after about 10 minutes. This left just the right size lump definetely appropriate size. This also made us realize that we really do need to just start feeding her at night. It seems like it is the only time she will take. |

| Comments | Moved to Tub |
| Moved Diamond to a 15Qt. Sterilite tub, until a small rack system is buillt. We are using newspaper substrate and heat pad to heat. Diamond was crawling her little ass inside of her light cage at night and we would have to take it apart in order to get her out. Luckily we found her before the lights came on. We are not willing to take any chances so we feel that this is best for her. She is doing well, but we know that it will take some more time for her to get adjusted to her new tub just as it did when we brought her home and put her into her tank.... |

| Vet Trip | Diamond throat puffing up |
| Diamond looked outwardly physically healthy today. She was not dehydrated there was only a very small amount of fluid in her mouth but it was not mucous and it was not enough to cause concern. She was wieghed at 55g (which at the time we did not realize was such a loss because we had previously wieghed her in oz.) Dr. Dave said we should do a tracheal wash where they would draw fluid out of her lungs and send it for culture and sensitivity so that we could see exactly what was causing this and what med would work best to cure it, however it would cost $594.67 and right now we really do not have that, we told we would start trying to save up for that and he understood and assured us that didnt mean we were bad keepers. He did suggest putting her on an antifungul medication called metronidazole it would work with the antibiotics in case this was being caused by a fungus. He tried to get the crust off of her nares with a saturated cotton swab but was unable to do he told us to soak her for 10min/day in her small bin with the lid in water warm enough to cause some steam, like you would do with someone who had asthma and keep trying to get her nares unclogged. Also because the Enrofloxacin can cause tissue and muscle necrosis I asked if we could switch her to oral and he told me that the med we already had at home could be given orally instead of being injected. She will be on the Metronidazole daily as well as the Enrofloxacin. Hopefully this will help her get better. |

| Comments | Diamond Neck puffing up |
| After giving Diamond her medicine today we noticed that she was starting to breathe with her mouth open again but she was not popping a whole lot. After watching her for a while longer we noticed that her throat was puffing up (almost like a bullfrog) every few breaths. I immediately called Dr. Dave who asked me to bring her in as soon as possible. I told him I would bring her tomorrow, he assured me that Diamond should be ok overnight and that sometimes snakes could have wierd defensive posture. (for the record I do not think this is defense). but I trust our vet. |

| Comments | Concerns of the Enrofloxacin |
| We were told by Dr. Dave that one of the side effects of giving Enrofloxacin IM is that it could cause muscle and or tissue necrosis (VERY SERIOUS). He said the medication can also be given orally. He told us that he had never actually seen this happen but because it is a side effect and it could happen we need to watch the injection sites and let him know if anything looks concerning. |

| Comments | Spkoe to Farmland (Silverdale WA) |
| Spoke to Shannon at Farmland today regarding Diamond's RI and even presented them with copies of everything from the vet from the bill to the diagnosis and treatment plan, and all she would say to me was that if I wanted my money back then I needed to bring the snake back.....h3ll no. I told them if I gave the snake back to them that they would just kill it, because they had already told me they would not give her any vet care, so I made sure to let them know exactly what I thought about them ....I hope if anybody reads this, please pay attention. DO NOT BUY ANY ANIMALS FROM FARMLAND IN SILVERDALE WA. I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHO I CAN CALL AND MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO, AND I URGE ANYONE ELSE TO DO THE SAME...... |

| Vet Trip | Possible RI |
| Dr. Dave confirmed she has an upper respiratory Infection. He said she was not dehydrated because her skin was snapping back within 1 second and said that we could keep soaking her a couple times a week for about 10 min. to make sure she was staying hydrated. Dr. Dave could see a little moisture in the mouth but it was not enough to concern him and said her trachea was clear. Of course talked about a few different options and he decided to put her on antibiotics to see if it would clear up.

| Comments | Open mouth breathing |
| We noticed when we were trying to get her to eat that she was doing some open mouth breathing every few breaths and there was moisture in her Nares. We took her into another room so we could listen and heard some crackling and popping sounds, at which time we called and made an appt. for her to go in and see Dr, Dave. |

| DeAndre tried putting chicken broth on the back of the mice because someone told us that would help a picky eater, but she still showed no interest at all. |

$100.00
| Purchased Diamond from Farmland in Silverdale WA. We bought her because we had seen her in there for over a month and she was extremely small we knew she would be under weight. We bought her thinking we were definetely rescuing her but we did not know how sick she was. FOR THE RECORD. FARMLAND HAS NO BUISNESS SELLING ANIMALS. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. for being a buisness, they had absolutely no records on her and told us they may have gotten her from McGrath Reptiles which is a wholesale retailer in CA. they told us they were feeding her 1 fuzzy mouse every friday, but we dont think she was eating. they confirmed that if reptiles get sick they will not get them vet help. I knew if Diamond stayed there any longer she would die. I didnt know what we were getting into. We have seen so many hatchlings bigger than Diamond and we were told that she should be about 3 months (12 weeks) old. if she is she is so under weight |
