| Deandre took Syncere out for a while tonight and all of a sudden I noticed that there was blood on my couch in numerous spots, we realized that the blood was coming from her mouth.
There was nothing wrong when he took her out and no injury while she was out. We both inspected her mouth inside and out and neither of us could see any trauma, but there was a substantial amount of blood. I decided to look in her enclosure but there was no blood in her tub anywhere, there was also no mucous or anything that looked like it could have contributed to the injury.
I went and got some Povidone Iodine as well as Listerine smart rinse, we cleaned her mouth really well and saw nothing again, we were concerned with Mouth Rot but saw nothing so far. I applied the Povidone Iodine to her gums, teeth and surrounding areas just to give her some kind of antibiotic.
Later we realized that she had lost a tooth and it was stuck in her mouth and it was cutting her, we got the tooth out and continued to treat with the Listerine Smart Rinse and the Povidone Iodine to ensure she didn't get an infection.
We realize this could be the beginning of mouth rot and we are going to keep a very close eye on her. |
