My Reptile Interests
|
|
My passion is in working with venomous reptiles as you'll see with some of the pics I'll be posting. BUT, my breeding background involved eastern indigo snakes and I have had a chance to speak at the Int'l Herp Symposium in Phoenix and had my presentation published in their proceedings. I've been keeping herps since I was 4 and now that I'm just a "little" older, the passion is still burning strong.
Outside of herps, I have two dogs (rotties) and a kangaroo (no joke)

Other Interests

That's hard....I live in a house that's on the farm where my public wildlife facility is located - when I'm done at "work" I go home and care for my animals. BUT, I do enjoy bird watching, hiking, camping, kayaking/canoeing, squash/racquetball, watching baseball (I used to play professionally) and visting other zoos/wildlife facilities.

I used to play in a band (guitar)....my hair was much longer back then! Favorite bands: Rush, Pink Floyd, Zep, Clapton, I could reel off another 100.

Movies
|
|
Cheesy B-grade herp movies (ssssSSSS, Frogs, etc.). But, my wife doesn't share that same excitement so we watch the usual movies - action, suspense, etc. I don't really have much time to watch TV or movies so its pretty sporadic.

Herps rule....for those wishing to make reptiles a career, don't let people tell you that you can't do it. My staff have all started their own side business that deal with herps and wildlife in general. I started this place with nothing more than a dream and an idea (and not a penny to my name). Now I manage an internationally acclaimed herp facility - not bragging - I take ZERO credit for this - that all goes to the man above.
