My Reptile Interests

I've always been fascinated by reptiles all my life but hadn't really considered owning any until my son showed a real interest.
My son caught his first garter snake in our yard when he was 2 1/2 and has been hooked ever since. I told him when he was 3 that if he still wanted one I'd get him a snake when he turned 7. So on his 7th birthday he asked me when he was getting his snake? It's amazing they can remember something you told them when they're 3 but still can't remember to flush the toilet!!
