My Reptile Interests

I started reptile-sitting as a child because I couldn't own any myself because my mother my mother was always worried something with a UV or heat bulb would burn down her house.
I started keeping myself in 2004 when I moved out and discovered a wonderful species that lived at room temperature - the crested gecko. I’ve been keeping crested geckos on and off since then, and although I’ve kept a number of agamid species and a stray snake or so, cresties have always been my true love and the only species I am currently interested in breeding, though I would consider other New Caledonian geckos in the future.
I'm currently renting but cannot wait to get back into snakes once I own my own home. I would love to pick up an ackie as well.

I'm a doctoral candidate at a research university in the Midwest. I have taught Writing Across Media, Business and Technical Writing, and First-year Comp and have worked in administration for the Undergraduate Rhetoric Program and the Program for Professional Writing. I am currently on research fellowship.
