My Reptile Interests
|
|
I consider myself a generalist but (obviously) focus on green pythons. I also have some garter snakes, a pair of annulated boas, a pair of Angolan Pythons, a female pied, an albino balls and a het along with a panther chameleon.
I've kept herps off and on since I was in middle school (back in the 70's). Its always a thrill to get out into the field and search around for them - I've had the absolute pleasure of herping in the plains of southwestern Colorado, Costa Rica as well as in local spots in and around Maryland.
On the academic side I was involved in genetic research at Towson University working on microsatellite analysis of green pythons (specifically Aru, Australian, and Southern New Guinea [aka "Meraukes"]). For now this research has been put on hold until I can procur more "verified" specimen samples from Aru and Southern New Guinea.

Other Interests
|
|
Lots of outside interests - biking (both mountain and road), skateboarding, playing baseball/football with my son.
I also like movies - lately I've been into reading and watching films that revolve around the "human aspects" of World War 2. I also like collecting sports memorabilia (mostly baseball & football) - this passion has been rekindled largely thanks to my son! Other fun interests include playing video games (mainly sports and war simulations).

Love music - all kinds with exceptions being country and new "hard core" rap. Everything else is fair game and my favorites change - but for all around I'd say Cold Play, Sarah McLachlan (sp?); for jammin - well I could go on for days... hard stuff includes Husker Du, Bob Mould, Ramones, Death From Above, Clash, Dead Milkmen, Agent Orange, misfits etc.; Others include Devo, B-52's, The 88, Joe Jackson etc; classic - Van Halen (not Haggar though he's ok), Styx, Cheap Trick, Skynard, Nugent, Preist, Hendrix etc; Bumpin - Parliament, Kool and the Gang, Brick, Ohio Players etc...
