My Reptile Interests

I have a wide interest in herps. I mostly keep ball pythons, but love boas, king snakes and milk snakes. I have been keeping herps for about 6 years now. It started with my intention to overcome my fear of snakes and has brought me to now, when I just can't seem to get enough of them. I went through 6 months of absolute hell recently when I brought home a snake that had paramyxovirus. I quarantined him and after 2 months entered him into my collection. The virus killed him and 6 of my other snakes... including the first ball python I got, Ned. It was a horrible experience, but has made me wiser and pushes me to educate others on the importance of proper quarantine and handling. My case of paramyxovirus was only the second case my vet had seen in his 30 years of practicing medicine. I lost so much, but still have a lot to be grateful for. I have a much greater respect for life having watched so much suffering and loss.

I enjoy music, the outdoors and family outings.

I like most kinds of music. Some of my favorite artists are 3OH3!, Britney Spears, Rhiana, Eminem, Beyonce', Thriving Ivory, Hinder, State of Shock. There are many, many more! The only type of music I just can't seem to get into is classical.

I really enjoy thrillers and suspense movies.

I start my career with the Department of Corrections on May 18,2009 and am hopeful to one day teach Criminal Law at a college or university.

The older I get, the more I wish i had spent more time enjoying my family. My first grandchild, a beautiful girl named Sariah, was born July 17,2009 and I couldn't be happier.
