Our latest addition, "Obsidian," an Emperor Scorpion (Pandinus imperator). This is the best profile picture I could get of him without dragging out the camera tripod, which I just didn't feel like doing tonight. Good shot of his stinger (telson) in this photo. He's still too aggressive to be handled. I am not sure if he will ever settle down; he's been kept most of his life with various other species of scorpions, so he may have learned to be constantly on the offense in order to best be on the defense as it were.
