Bad shed

Photo Rating 0 votes

I'm not sure if you can really see it but he shed from the head down then the rest kind of got stuck and wouldn't come off. I think his stress from moving could be the reason.

At any rate, if all of it didn't come off, use a damp towel and try to get it off yourself as gently as possible; that skin can cause problems if it stays on.

One major reason for a bad shad would be a lack of humidity. If it's too dry in his cage, he won't be able to shed properly. Misting him and providing a water dish large enough to soak at least part of his body in should help.
