My Reptile Interests

I have reduced my collection dramatically due to a move from Florida to SC. But, now that I'm in a state where I can legally keep Burmese, I'm going to try to establish a Burm program. Ever since I was young we kept herps. When I was a kid, my dad kept several large pythons, boas and such. He transferred his love of animals onto me. He always got so upset with me because I would pick up corn snakes, tortoises, slider turtles, etc and carry them to the house to ask to keep them.. Being from Florida we never had a shortage of all things scaly and furry. I genuinely had no fear of them. He taught me from a young age what snakes were venomous in the area or show me things I probably shouldn't poke at.. You should've seen his face when I was chasing an eastern coral just to get a good picture of it... "I'm not touching it!" Educating myself on the nature of these wonderful creatures is a true passion of mine and always has been. I am still learning every day, but I love all the great knowledge and power that comes out of the hobby. Hopefully some day the world will learn to respect herps through educating themselves on them, not be afraid of them.

I sculpt in my spare time, do yoga, make music, gardening, and hiking are my favorite things to do.
