Rudy's Enclosure 3.0

Photo Rating 0 votes

The hides we purchased from PetSmart turned out to be a bit too small (the overall dimensions - 10x10x7 - were probably okay, but because of the way the thing was contoured, there wasn't quite enough room inside for him to maneuver). So, after much looking around at our options, we ended up taking a plastic planter pot from the hardware store (12" diameter), cutting off about an inch of the bottom, and adding an entrance hole. After sanding all the edges smooth, it looked perfect. When we installed them in his tank, he immediately went into one of them, and it seemed just roomy enough (but not too roomy). YAY! Kind of annoying that the really expensive ones we purchased didn't end up working, and he's now hanging out in $5 planter pots haha. (The expensive ones won't go to waste, though - we'll use them with some of our other herps).
