Health Update 1 from 5/25/2022

Please read before commenting on his health.
He was a bit of a rescue even though he was technically bought by us from someone who will not be named here as they are a big business. They shipped a pair in a single bag with crushed paper in it. This guy bit the other in transit and gave her a serious injury that ended in her death. We were horrified to say the least. We started with deworming first which took a while and at the same time he did not like the foods we were trying to give him. (variety of pangea flavors in the beginning, as well as mealworms) He lost a ton of weight and was skeletal for a long time until he decided he liked the banana apricot the best and I guess realized he needs to eat to live? He started eating more and is just now gaining weight back. The pair also had red lizard mites that had to be dealt with. We used a diluted cat ear mite treatment which worked effectively and erased the mites. Only one treatment was done and daily cleaning of the tiny set up he was in for quarantine. He has now been free of mites for months. So yes he is very bad looking in these two update photos, but he is regaining strength and weight. We look forward to when we can take update pictures and he looks better.
