Comments:	Ophiophagus hannah was originally described as Hamadryas hannah by Cantor (1836), but that name was already preoccupied by a genus of Lepidoptera (butterflies), so it was eventually assigned to the monotypic genus Ophiophagus by Günther (1864). It is the longest venomous snake species in the world, and the only one known to build a nest and guard it. This female O. hannah was produced by Zack Atwell from a Malaysian dam and sire. The sire was 14-14.5-ft, and the dam about 10-ft in length. This gal should make for a gorgeous adult specimen in a year or two.
