My Reptile Interests

Ive been in the Reptile hobby for around 3 or 4 years now. I First became interested in reptiles from an early age. I lived on3 acre plot of land in the country Surrounded by woods and fields from age 2 until i was 15. Snakes could be found everywhere out there and to occupy my summer days i would take note on how they acted, where they preferred to hide and when the best time to find them was. After I turned 16 I went out and got my first job and i lived right across the street from a herp shop so naturally i took a peek inside and left with my first store bought reptile, a white spotted gecko (I lived with my grandma at the time and she wouldn't let me own snakes ). I began to collect geckos of all kinds, from house geckos to tokays. I eventually convinced my grandma to let me buy an adult ball python and i used it to introduce her to the idea of having snakes around. I bought a few more ball pythons in the following months and eventually decided that I had more of an interest in boas, arboreals, and colubrids. I just recently got into breeding after spending a year of debating it and hatched out my first king snake clutch this summer. I'm looking forward to many many more years of breeding. And my herping adventures are getting better and better every summer. This summer (2012) has been the best so far, topping it off with a prairie rattlesnake and finding a hot spot for black rats and other native aboreals.

I'm out of high school, working on getting a car so that I can stat college. I want to one day be a professor in herpetology or zoology or a vet. If neither of those work out then I want to try to start a rescue for not only reptiles but all exotic species.

I volunteer in a herp shop, and love it. I get to work around all kinds of reptiles and morphs. My favorite "job" by far.
