Okay, that makes much more sense to me. Thanks DFW! I knew he couldn't be a corn...other than his size, he just doesn't act like one. I'll see what the opinions are on what type of rat he might be. Thanks for the compliments too! He's pretty handsome :D

Well then i was right. Its def. not a bubblegum corn. :)

Of course, I'm only saying it's a bubblegum rat because it was purchased under the name bubblegum. From what I understand, a bubblegum corn is just a snow corn with pink in between the dorsal saddles. With all the cross breeding and mutt colubrids out there, it could be anything. It could be a high color albino black rat or an albino Texas rat. Bubblegum rats are highly variable, but the appearance of this guy falls into that range. Two things I'm sure of: 1. He is definitely P. obsoleta (not guttata). 2. He is beautiful:) -p-

This is not a cornsnake. It's a bubblegum ratsnake. The morph was developed by Kathy Love. It's an amelanistic cross of yellow, black and Everglades ratsnake blood. I believe the albino gene was introduced with the black rat blood. This is a gorgeous animal. There aren't a lot of "pure" bubblegum rats out there anymore, but this one is pretty close to the original appearance. It explains the size too:) -p-

I am a member on there (Hellstrom). I just haven't gotten around to asking yet...I definitely should. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my mind around him being a corn because he's such a monster. Everyone thinks my 800 gram girl is huge, but she's nothing compared to this guy...

Seriously, im of the opinion that he mostly resembles whats known as a peppermint, which is the combination of albino and cinder. But since your boy is 1200 grams, its not likely. I think the first peppermint wasnt produced until last year. But if you want more and better opinions, you should join CS.com and ask there. Its a corn snake forum.

Thanks! He's pretty awesome. I was told that he's a bubblegum, but I don't have proof yet. I got him from a breeder I trust though. Do you have an opinion of what he might actually be? I've never seen another corn like him...
