Comments:	This was a truly remarkable specimen. I acquired it in 2003 from a Florida importer, who was selling it as an "orange Thelotornis". I had already worked with a few species of Thelotornis at that point, but this particular specimen was intriguing, as I had not seen one like that before. I decided to contact the famous African herpetologist Don Broadley, who was (and still remains) the world authority on this genus. His response was even more interesting, as he believed that this may be one of a handful of known specimens of a recently described species, Xyelodontophis uluguruensis. Little did I know that just a couple of years later, I would officially become involved in researching not just these two genera, but the entire tribe Dispholidini. This specimen was actually one of the samples that I sequenced, and the molecular data is quite clear in that this is in fact a Thelotornis, not a X. uluguruensis. It finally died in 2010.
