Comments:	Aspidelaps lubricus was described as "Natrix lubrica" by Laurenti (1768) from the Cape of Good Hope in the Western Cape of South Africa. Andrew Smith (1826) considered it to be a true cobra ("Naia somersetta"), before Sternfeld (1910) classified it in the genus Aspidelaps. This male was originally produced by Robbie Keszey in 2007, and has finally found its way into my collection. He is significantly smaller than the female, and the banding is a lot less obvious on him.
